How often do we read a book, or hear a piece of news, or listen to a song on the radio that we just know will be appreciated by a friend. I created this space as a way to share our experiences with each other. If you have an opinion, a comment or even a question about anything... and you want to share that with us, your friends, please feel free to post here... about things that move you, upset you, tickle you... or simply because procrastination seems like a darned good idea at this point!

For everyone who wondered what the constantly changing numbers on the Union Square billboard meant
It's interesting as well as pointless.

New tax collection scheme
Check out what the Bihari babu's came up with to boost their tax collection revenue!
Dead woman wins county race
This is funny and goes to show how dumb/ignorant/stupid people can be. Also poses some questions on the electoral format. This woman had been dead for nearly 2 months prior to the elections and no one decided that a replacement was in order? And if people knew that she was dead why would they vote for her? Was the other candidate such a sucker!!!! AMAZING!!!
r u ready?
rutgers is no longer a footnote in college football as just the birth place of the game. it has played well enugh to be actually ranked nationally ... 13 for now !
today v played louisville, ranked 3 nationally with one of teh best offense .... amazing game ! we were down 25-7 in the 2nd quarter ... but the rutgers defense lived up to its reputation ... rutgers won 28-25!!!

How Dare he!!!!
Check this article out. It infuriated me to no extent. How dare he say take care of ur issues before you talk to pakistan..which basically translates to "why dont u get a few more army and bsf people not to mention the civilians killed in other parts of the country and let us wreak some more havoc in Kashmir."
The govt needs to really stepup a notch to this statement and send a strong message out.
thoughts?

Tickets go on sale on the 12th.
The show is on the 13th of October....which is obviously a Friday.
And so fittingly, their concert is on Friday the 13th.

Cingular Sucks Boycott Cingular
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14125254/wid/11915829?GT1=8486
Check this out. Its outrageous. Just cos someones on the TDMA network cingular will charge them 5$ per month for their services over and above their monthly bill. That is a freakin ripoff.
The cell phone industry here sucks..screwed up phones. Ridiculous contracts. No sense of customer and brand loyalty. If I could live without it now, I would get rid of it.
How dificult is it to convert the TDMA to GSM. Why should the consumers pay cos cingular hasnt gotten their act together of converting analog to digital. If the terrain doesnt support GSM or its too expensive to replace TDMA with GSM then im sorry these ppl are in the wrong business. Its not as if the stupid taxes from the govt arent enuff. You pay nearly 5$ a month to the govt out of ur cell phone bill and ur service provider taxes you on the 39.99 + 5$...imagine that..that extra portion of the tax is in their pockets anyways and with over a million subscribers they cant afford to support a few tdma customers..thats bull shit..
boycott cingular i say!!!

Sorry....
I apologize in advance, and I will delete this later, but:
Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him (Oh, man, this is so bad, it's good).....
A super calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.
There are 20 more where that one came from...

13 TZAMETI
movie reco from ant ...
trailer
Synopsis: Twenty-two-year-old Sebastien (Georges Babluani) leads an impoverished life with his immigrant family constantly struggling to support them. While repairing the roof of a neighbor's house, he overhears a conversation about an expected package which promises to make the household rich. Sensing the opportunity of a lifetime, Sebastien intercepts the package which contains a series of specific instructions. Following the clues, he assumes a false identity and manages to slip through the grasp of the enclosing police as he ventures deeper and deeper into the countryside. The closer he gets to his destination and the more people he meets along the way, the less he understands about what he is looking for. Ultimately, he comes face to face with a ring of clandestine gamblers placing bets on the outcome of a multi-player, high stakes tournament of Russian roulette.
Directed by newcomer Gela Babluani, 13 TZAMETI is a winner-take-all thriller, where an unfortunate young man is transformed into Contestant #13 with no way out save his luck.

6 degrees of separation
is the world really that small?
apparently in the original experiment conducted by stanley milgram in '67 only about 5% of the letters reached their destination .... ummm the ones that reached had 6 links in the chain. in '03 letters were replaced by emails and instead of the 96 ppl used by milgram the new study had over 60,000 participants from 166 countries. this time around 3% of the email chains reached their target. the median chain length was between 5 and 7. looks like IF u can reach someone, u culd on an avg do it with just 6 degrees of separation.

The real heroes
This article just goes to prove how amazing this city is!! Parts of it may be too hard to digest. Definitely screwed my head up.
I think the govt owes it to the people of Bombay to find out who has been behind all these blasts and make an example so horrible that no one will even think of attempting such a thing ever ever again. I say get the army and air force and run over the mofos next door. Bomb Afghanistan, its time the givt showed some balls. Enough of peace keeping attempts, time for peace is over.
