Henry Ford said "My ambition is to employ still more men, to spread the benefits of this industrial system to the greatest possible number, to help them build up their lives and their homes. To do this we are putting the greatest share of our profits back in the business."

Corporations are created to generate profits for their investors. At one extreme you have the Enron's and Worldcoms taking that notion to an extreme and breaking rules to create wealth for themselves and at the other we have a Henry Ford, who set out to convert his corporation into a "charitable" entity. There's got to be some middle ground. Either extremes tick the judicial system off.
Bill Gates has another way of striking a balance - The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation! Now that is genius.
